Diary of Philip W. Holmes, April 9-30, 1861, kept while a member of the 13th New York Regiment, Co. G. Joined regiment in New York, was stationed in Annapolis and Baltimore on a guard duty. Gives minute details of army and camp life including descriptions of fellow soldiers, food, recreation, daily routine, and attitude of Maryland residents toward them. Some descriptions of Annapolis and Baltimore. Collection includes original volume and transcript made by his daughter
